Program 2010 – 16. – 25. August
Monday 16th: KICK-OFF PARTY
The countdown is over and we are kicking off Fadderullan 2010! Welcome to the very first party at SHNAS this semester. Norwegian artist Samsaya will be on stage performing her hit singles “ADHD” , “Money” and other songs from her latest album. After the concert there will be live music throughout the night.

Tuesday 17th: IDYLL
Idyll is one of the most beloved traditions in Fadderullan. Postgirobygget return this year as well to give you an unforgettable concert by the shoreline in Asker. Enjoy great music with your friends and party until sunset. All students at BI are welcome to buy tickets to this event and transportation is included in the ticket fee.

Wednesday 18th: BBQ IN THE PARK
Summer days in Oslo are often spent chilling in the park and that is what we are going to do today! Join your buddy group, bring some food and come to the park for a BBQ and some sports.

Thursday 19th : STUDENT UNION DAY
Did you know that you automatically become member of the student union at your bachelor programme? The boards in the student unions have worked hard to arrange their own events, and you will spend today with the rest of the students attending the same field of study as yourself. More information will be posted shortly.
Friday 20th : SAIL CHALLENGE 2010
Once again Fadderullan is the host of Norway’s biggest commercial regatta in the Oslo fjord. On board the sail boats are members of our different committees and student unions will fight to be this year’s winner. Meanwhile, all freshers and their buddies will enjoy a meal of seafood while watching the regatta from charter boats.

Saturday 21st: QUIZ RELAY RACE
Nydalen and its surroundings will be filled with stations where your variety of skills will be put to a serious test. The quiz relay race is all about collaboration and effort in order to make sure your buddy group will be the victorious one – good luck!

Sunday 22nd: SERVICE
It’s finally Sunday and the student priests invite all students in Oslo to participate at this Service at the Royal Castle’s chapel. We can guarantee you a service out of the ordinary!’

Monday 23rd: BACK TO THE 90’s – A1 CONCERT
It’s time to pack the 90’s back out of the closet! Tonight, we give Buffalo shoes, tummy-tops and leg warmers a second chance. And who knows, maybe if we are lucky we will spot a guy in a silk boxers as well! A1 will take us down memory lane at Sentrum Scene, serving us the best of boy band music. Refresh your dancing skills and put on your party pants, you don’t want to miss this!

Wednesday 25th: SUIT UP-PARTY – PRESENTED BY NRJ
Paparazzi, red carpets and champagne. When we wrap up Fadderullan we do it in style. Wear your best suit or your nicest dress, because tonight’s the night! There will of course be entertainment on stage, and if you want to know more, we encourage you to stay tuned here at fadderullan.no or our Facebook-group Fadderullan 2010!

Saturday 14th august
Ticket sale for all Buddies starts at 17.00. Where? Outside Finn Øien. Cash and card accepted.
Monday 16th august
Ticket sale at Kroa. From 14.00 until 19.00. Only tickets for the Idyll concert will be sold this day. Cash and card accepted.
Tuesday 17th august
On this day tickets for the Idyll concert, Sail Challenge, Back to the 90´s and the NRJ Suit up party can be bought. The ticket sale starts at 13.00 untill 15.00 at Campus.
On this day tickets for the different student union days will be sold at Kroa from 15.00 until 17.00.
The students unions will sell tickets at Kroa:
- Tuesday 17th august from 15.00 until 17.00
- Wednesday 18th august from 11.00 until 12.30
- Thursday 19th august from 12.00 until 14.00
Student union days 2010
On the Student Union days you will get the opportunity to get to know and have fun with your new study buddies. The Student Union board of your bachelor programme will be in charge of these days, and the same board will arrange other social activities for you throughout the semester. All students can participate on the Student Union days, it is not unconditionally for new students and buddies. Therefore we encourage everyone to take the opportunity to get some valuable tips from your experienced fellow students. About Fadderullan
Fadderullan is the buddy week at BI in Oslo and is arranged by The Student Union at BI in Oslo (SBIO), represented by an independent board. It is the biggest project arranged by SBIO throughout the whole year and we can guarantee you a memorable event – whether you are a freshman student, crew or buddy.
The object of Fadderullan is to make sure that all new students at BI are taken care of and gets the best possible start to their time studying at BI in Oslo. To manage this, arrangements of parties, concerts and other activities are made to provide the students with a kick-start to their new student environment.
As a new student you will be part of a buddy group with your fellow new students, and you will be given a dedicated group of buddies who will introduce you to what the student environment in Nydalen has to offer. You will be divided into buddy groups at the first day of school.
There will be posted information at fadderullan.no continuously that might be helpful for you who are starting at BI in the fall of 2010. Here you will find detailed information about all the events, ticket sales, transportation and other useful information. However, if you are not able to obtain the information you are searching for, you are welcome to send us an email.
By joining the Facebook-group ”Fadderullan 2010” you are able to obtain the newest information about the Buddy Week first! Whether you are a freshman student, crew or buddy you will find useful information posted there.

Frequently asked questions
I do not feel like I fit in with my buddy group, and I wish to change groups. Is that possible, and whom do I contact?
Yes, of course that is possible. If you wish to change groups during buddy week, please contact our Head of Personnel Klaus Kristiansen at personal.fadderullan@sbio.no. We will try to do our best to put you in a group you will enjoy being in!
I am new in Oslo and I am thinking about getting a part-time job. Where should I start?
There are many job-employment and recruitment agencies in Oslo, and they post new and available positions everyday on their website. In addition, you can find available positions on BI Career Service and BISV (BI students’ substitute agency). We recommend you to come and listen to business presentations and take part in events such as BI Career and Commercial Business days, where you also get the chance to meet representatives from different companies.
Student Sports- Nydalen Athletica
The Foundation for Student Life in Oslo (SiO) has a lot to offer BI students, for instance health services, housing, and kindergartens. They also have many training centers at several places in Oslo, whereas one of them is in the BI campus in Nydalen. This includes access to swimming halls, a wide arrangement of group-trainings and cycling, squash, and multi-purpose halls. At the training center in Nydalen, you may find indoor cycling classes, group trainings, and fitness-appliances and guidance. We recommend all new students to visit www.sio.no for a complete overview of our current offers for students in Oslo.
Where can I buy monthly student card for public transportation?
You have to go to Trafikanten the first time you are buying a monthly student transportation card in order to make an additional personal card, along with personal contact information and a picture attached. To be able to use this monthly student card, this additional card always has to be shown together. At the first publication of this card at Trafikanten, you need to bring with you a valid BI student card with a valid semester sticker attached, along with an ID card. If you have not yet received your BI student card, you can ask the Student Service Center for a confirmation that you are currently a student at BI and bring this instead. If you need to renew your monthly public transportation card, you must bring a valid BI student card and your additional personal card from Trafikanten. You can buy new monthly public transportation card at Trafikanten, Student Service Center, and in various kiosks or booths at the subway stations. Go to www.trafikanten.no for more info and timetables.
How do I get to BI?
Train number 4 Ringen, 6 Ringen, and 5 Storo all stops at Nydalen. Buss number 30 and 37 also stops right in front of BI campus. Tram number 11, 12, and 13 all stops at Storo, which is only 5-10 minutes walking distance to the campus.
Important areas on campus
The library: Located on the 5th and 6th floor .here you may find group-work study rooms, quiet study areas, and group areas. The group rooms are very popular, if you wish to make use of these rooms you can book them at grupperom.bi.no. if you wish to visit the library, you can take the elevator to the 5th floor and follow the bridge leading to the library. By the entrance there is a reception desk where they will answer all your questions regarding the library.
The canteen: The canteen is located on the ground floor of the campus. There also are two coffee shops, one located by the main entrance whilst the other is on the opposite side of the campus. You will find both of these shops on the 1st floor. In addition to that, there is also an Amigo kiosk on the same floor, where you can buy among other things bottled water, fast-food meals, pastry dishes, and snacks.
Bachelor administration office: The bachelor administration office is ready to answer all questions regarding your studies. You may sign up for exams or book an appointment with a study counselor. The office is located on the 3rd floor.
Student Service Center: The student service center is located on the ground floor. Here you can buy your monthly public transportation card, hand in assignments, receive your transcript of grades, and ask various questions. Here you are also able to take a picture for your BI student card.
